The YPG-led SDF’s "Euphrates Wrath" operations room has declared to seize control of the northern part of Syria's third-largest water dam after battles against IS organization over there.
The operations room reported that the control of the Baath Dam, or as it called the Freedom Dam, came after the control of the town of Kadiran, which is adjacent to the dam area in the western countryside of Raqqa. The Baath Dam is about 27 km away from the Euphrates dam.
Although the Euphrates Wrath room published pictures showing the presence of fighters from the Kurdish protection units near the dam, field sources confirmed that as of Friday morning IS organization still controls the second part of the dam in the West Bank in front of the village of Kadiran.
