IS organization Claims Responsibilty for the attack on "Rikban"

IS organization via its own news agency (Amaaq) claimed responsibility for Monday's attack on the Al-Rikban camp for displaced Syrians, near the Jordanian borderline, which claimed the lives of a number of civilians and others wounded by the explosion of two car bombs.

Sources in the camp said that an explosion occurred near a restaurant, while the second car targeted the nearby camp’s market, which led to the deaths of at least six civilians, in addition to wounded, some of injuries are serious.

“Amaaq” did not explain the causes of the attack, nor gave details about it. The camp is located near the borderline area between Syria, Iraq and Jordan, and is inhabited by displaced people from southern Syria.

Attacks on the Borderline area

IS organization attacked a Jordanian army checkpoint using a car bomb in June last year, resulting in the deaths and injuries of the Jordanian army, and it was  completely close the border, which exacerbated the suffering of the displaced people over there.

The organization attacked al-Rikban camp with a car bomb earlier this year, in January, which killed a number of people and others wounded, and several explosions occurred last year, of which IS group accused of.

It should be noted that the factions of the Jordan-backed  Free Syrian Army stationed on the outskirts of the camp of the Rikban, most notably the army of free tribes, takes over the security task of the camp and the border area of ​​the Syrian side.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi told US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a phone call a few days ago that his country does not want terrorist organizations or sectarian militias on its northern border areas with Syria.

There are frequent reports of military buildup on the Syrian-Jordanian border and preparations for a planned Jordanian-British-American military operation aimed at eradicating IS group to secure the borderlıne area and establish a safe area.

A leader of the Syrian Free Army has confirmed earlier that IS mılitants stationed in some villages located in the desert north-west of the camp Rikban, seeking to destabilize the Syrian-Jordanian border, and hit the port on which the border guards stationed on the Jordanian side and the army of free tribes on the Syrian side in a military point near the camp of the Rikban.
