The London-based " Action Group for Palestinians of Syria" documented Wednesday the killing of 17 Palestinian journalists in Syria during their media coverage of the ongoing events since the revolution began in March 2011.

The Group said in a report published on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day on 3 May: "These journalists have been killed in multiple areas of Syria," working in the domains of " developing - relief - media ".

The report pointed out that the facts on the ground indicate that the figure is even greater, given the circumstances of "the ability to announce the death .. and the consequent responsibilities of the victims’ families , most of whom died as a result of enforced disappearance and torture to death, .

The Action Group for the Palestinians of Syria, based in London, and launched in 2012, a collective initiative of Palestinian and Arab personalities to follow the violations against the Palestinians of Syria and documenting such breaches via its official website.

The same group has documented the deaths of 3,078 Palestinian refugees in Syria as a result of the conflict over there since 2011, while the United Nations estimates that 450,000 Palestinian refugees still live in Syria.
