A number of people were killed and others injured in a car bomb explosion in a neighborhood of Homs, at a time the Syrian regime announced the foiling of another car bomb attack on the outskirts of Damascus.

The regime’s official news agency “SANA”, acknowledged that three people were killed and a large number were wounded after a booby-trapped explosion near “Bab-Tadmur” roundabout in the direction of al-Zahra Square, an Alawites -big-majority neighborhood.

 "The car that exploded in al-Zahra neighborhood near the electricity company is a pickup, was pursued by the security services, and was driven by two suicide bombers, one of them posing as an officer in the army," explained Haid Razouk, a correspondent for Radio Cham FM in the city of Homs.

The Syrian news agency reported that the Syrian regime forces destroyed a car bomb inside which two were located near the “al-Mustakbal” checkpoint in Sayeda Zeinab area on the Damascus International Airport road, killing them all.

The neighborhoods of the city of Homs, inhabited by the Alawite community, specifically "Wadi Zahab, al-Zahra" seen frequent explosions, led to the overthrow of the security committee in the city of Homs, after demonstrations and popular protests among the regime’s supporters over there..
