Palestinian Authority inside Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 announced a general strike on Wednesday in Arab cities and towns in protest against the Israeli policy of demolition.

The Committee called in a statement it issued, on Tuesday evening to the "unity and closing ranks, to repel the new attack of the Israeli government against the Palestinian masses in the occupied territories."

The Commission explained that the strike involves all aspects of life; including education and schools, after the occupation authorities demolished several Palestinian houses in the town of Qalansawe, under the pretext of building without a permit.

The Commission added: "The crime of demolition today in Qalansawe, is to implement a proactive implementing of the Planning and Building law amendments, which is apparently will increase the number of planning committees in Arab towns, but in its essence is turning these Arabic committees, mayors and local councils to contractors of destruction of tens of thousands of Arab houses; where the Israeli government believes that the emerging conditions locally and regionally are appropriate for singling out our Arab mass, to be up of grabs between the jaws of their fierce racist fierce mindset."

The Committee also decided to hold a public broad festival in the town of Qalansawe on Wednesday, in solidarity with the people of the town, including a national march.

Large forces of the Israeli police and special units, accompanied by 20 bulldozers and vehicles, yesterday raided Qalansawe town in the southern triangle (central Palestine occupied in 1948), and a demolished ten houses under the pretext of building without a permit.
