Security campaign and arrests in Jordan

Jordanian authorities continued security crackdown in the city of Karak and large areas in the country, led to the arrest of dozens belonging to the Salafist jihadist.

The Jordanian media outlets said that the ongoing wave of   precautionary arrests in the country that followed the clashes in Karak succeeded in arresting more than 120  person belonging to the Salafi Jihadi Movement .

According to information,Islamist activists in Karak governorate and large areas of Jordan were followed, in addition to the electronic campaign to hunt down activists on social networking sites, at a time when the security aspects is grwong in the province.

the security forces began large-scale raid operations in the towns of Alqasr and Aljdaa north of Karak,where a number of supporters of the Jihadist Salafist movement were arrested.

Jordan took precautionary measures after the events in Karak on Sunday and Tuesday, including activating and setting security points in the internal and external roads, in addition to spreading of vehicles and armored vehicles on the roads in Amman, which its streets are experiencing wide security presence.

The armored vehicles under Royal Badya Forces were seen, deployed heavily in the sensitive areas of the capital Amman, most notably the areas of foreign embassies in Abdoun, Third and Fourth Square.

Karak governorate witnessed during the last days armed attacks, adopted by IS, in Qatraneh and Karak areas, the attack was on the security centers, resulted in the deaths of nine members of the gendarmerie, the police and the citizens, and the death of a Canadian tourist , and injuring 17 others.

Qrifla town north of the province also witnessed a confrontation between the security forces and an armed group, killing four members of the gendarmerie and the police, and wounded 12 others, including citizens.
