According to media sources in the city of Hasakah, the 17 PKK militants were killed in an ambush plotted by the Turkish army on the Syrian-Turkish border two days ago.

The sources said that the Turkish army has ambushed near the town of “Derbassiyeh” on the Turkish line-border area as the militia was trying to  smuggle a batch of weapons, ammunition and items to the Turkish territory, where 17 militants were killed including four field commanders after clashes continued for several hours.

Both of PKK and PYD’s militias deploy heavily in the northern city of Hasakah and Qamishli border areas, which are considered as the most important influence areas for those militias.
