The US-led international coalition said Monday that an airdrop carried out near the town of Bu Kamal in the countryside of Deir al-Zour targeted militants of IS organization, according to identical field sources.

The sources pointed out that the landing took place in the area of Hamdiyah in the vicinity of Bu Kamal, and targeting members of IS organization, killing eight of them, pointing out that the organization began digging trenches and the distribution of barriers in the vicinity of Bu Kamal in anticipation of any similar operations.

On 15 April, previous airdrop of the International coalition was observed in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour near the T2 station, south of the town of Al-Mayadeen, where the organization's supply points and weapons stores were targeted.

It is worth mentioning that the international coalition has been carrying out airdrops in the IS-held areas, especially in Deir al-Zour and its suburbs and the outskirt of Tabqa before it was captured by SDF. Most of the operations target leaders of the organization or destroy important sites and observatories as well.
