Turkish training camps for the Free Syrian Army

Free Syrian Army forces have been subjected to intensive military training by the Turkish armed forces since the announcement of the end of the Euphrates Shield operation in March, Anadolu agency quoted Turkish military sources confirmed.

According to those military sources, the Turkish army has set up training camps in northern Syria, near the border with Turkey, to train servicemen of the Free Syrian Army, the training includes the use of various types of weapons, physical education, and attend courses both new and former individuals.

"A new free Syrian army is being born there, and its new capabilities will emerge after the exercises, in potential operations (in Syria)," Turkish military officials said in the training area.

The Operation Euphrates Shield was launched on 24 August 2016 in cooperation between the Turkish forces and the Free Syrian Army aimed of purifying the Syrian border with Turkey from IS Organization and the militia of the People's Protection Units (YPG). On 29 March, Ankara announced the successful completion of the operation.
