Engineers: The Euphrates dam no longer threatened to collapse

Experts of engineers specialized in Euphrates dam on Thursday announced in a statement that the dam had become stable and that there was no longer any risk of collapse due to rising water levels.

The engineers pointed out that the confirmed information they received insists that the dam has become stable and its maintenance teams succeeded in rehabilitating the framework crane for controlling the Euphrates dam gates. The sixth gate was raised to pass water from the lake,which got 303.77 cm of water before the maintenance.

The engineers expressed their thanks to all those who contributed to the upgrading of the crane, especially the technical teams that completed their tasks in difficult circumstances. They also sent a letter of reassurance to the people of Raqqa and Deir al-Zour, and reported that the dam was under control and there was no fear of rising water levels in the lake.

The dam's engineers have issued many warnings over the past months, demanding the warring parties there "IS group (before its withdrawal) and the SDF militias" to neutralize the dam from their military operations, and allowing maintenance teams to enter the cranes and hydroelectric plant..
