392 Academic Persons of #Syria work in Turkish universities

Vice President of the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK), Hassan Mandal, revealed on Thursday that 392 Syrian academics are working in Turkish universities.

Mandal said that among the 392 academics working in Turkish universities, 13 are academic professors, 130 are assistant professors and 147 are teachers.

He pointed out that the number of foreigners who continue their studies in Turkish universities has reached about 108 students, and that the number of Syrian students in institutions of higher education is currently 15 thousand, after it was 608 students in the academic year 2011-2012, 65% of them males.

There are about 3 million Syrians living in Turkey, according to Turkish government figures. Syrian youth there, as well as academics, provide a working hand for Turkish industry.
