Pro-Assad regime its militias media sources announced the former seized  control of the airbase of al-Jarrah "Keshish" eastern countryside of Aleppo after battles against IS organization.

The sources said that IS militants withdrew from the airport and some of the villages surrounding it after being subjected to heavy aerial bombardment, which led to the advance of the militias of the so-called Raad al-Mahdi, a tribal military group that was inside the city of Aleppo and the regime forced  them to travel to the eastern countryside alongside its several troops.

It is noteworthy that IS organization had lost the airfield of Tabqa two months ago after an attack by the US-backed SDF militias ,thus the organization has lost all airfield had seized over except Hamdan Airport on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Asad forces began a large-scale military operation in the eastern countryside of Aleppo several months ago and was able to capture several villages there, the most important of which is the "Sokhna, Arouda, Rasm al-Harmal and other villages and towns as many as 15.

Al-Jarrah airport is located on the road between the towns of Deir Hafer and Maskanah in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, 60 km from the city of Aleppo. Thus, controlling the airport means that the regime is approaching to seize control of the last main strongholds of the organization in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo.

Al-Jarrah airfield was taken over by the revolutionary factions in 2013 after a half-and-a-month siege were able to expel the Assad forces off. In 2014 it was seized by IS organization..
