ElDorar AlShamia:

The Syrian High Negotiating Committee (HNC) rejected any role for Iran in the political process in Syria as an occupying power and rejected any role that would set up it as an occupying power through the reduction of escalation agreement.

"Iran plays the role of the devil in Syria," Salim al-Musallat, spokesman of HNC said, adding that "it (Iran) has unacceptable role in the political process."

Al-Musallat pointed out that the oppostion components are with any "cease-fire” in order to preserve the blood of all Syrians," adding that "it can not be accepted such agreements to be used to consecrate the Iranian occupation," referring to the latter's agreement on deescalation areas saying that" Iranian forces in Syria are "occupation forces whose presence can not be legitimized."

HNC rejected the agreement immediately after its announcement and expressed concern about the ambiguity of the agreement, which was "concluded without the Syrian people" and considered it "lacks the minimum elements of legitimacy," and stressed the need to be the UN-Security Council to sponsor any negotiations considered in the Syrian case .
