The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria has rejected the US decision to provide the militias with the weapons forwhat so-called (YPG), saying it serves the partition of Syria.

The group said in a statement on Wednesday that the announcement of the Pentagon on Monday that the White House agreed to provide the YPG militia with weapons "serves the project of dividing Syria and strengthening terrorist organizations."

"The Brotherhood considers the Kurds a key component of the fabric of the Syrian people and they are integral part of the unified Syrian homeland. Such a step serves the project of dividing Syria and strengthens the terrorist organizations that have a separatist project in the region," the statement added.

It described the YPG practices as "contrary to international law, committing crimes of murder and forced displacement against the people of the areas captured in the north of Syria, with the assistance and support of the Assad regime, and then US supports for weapons and military equipment."

"The Free Syrian Army is the only side capable of liberating the country from the Assad regime and all terrorist organizations. Any support for organizations that committing terrorist acts, systematic killing and systematic ethnic displacement serves only the continuation of chaos and terrorism in Syria, the statement said.

The pentagon announced yesterday that US President Donald Trump had ordered to supply of weapons to the YPG militia in order to speed up the military campaign against IS group and control its stronghold in the city of Raqqa.
