Bashar al-Assad thanks the North Korean Leader

In a letter sent to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Bashar al-Assad expressed his deep thanks for helping Korea presented to his regime, Russian media sources reported.

The sources pointed out that gratitude sent to the Korean leader indicated a consensus in the position of the two regimes on several issues, including the Syrian issue.

For its part, the North Korean News Agency said: "Assad thanked the leader of Korea for congratulating him on his re-election as a country secretary of the Baath party in Syria, and the" Syrian Arab Republic’s thanks for the support provided by Korea to Syria to overcome the difficulties it faces. "

It is noteworthy that North Korea had sent on 18 April a letter to Bashar al-Assad denounced the American strike that targeted the airport of Shay’rat, and expressed his country's solidarity with the Syrian regime.
