Would IS Group Move its capital from #Raqqa to Deir Al-Zour?

The IS group has lost many of its areas north of the city of Raqqa recently in favor of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is trying to block the siege completely on the city as happened in the city of Tabqah.

The Group sent dozens of leaders’ families to the city of Deir al-Zour, in anticipation of the fall of the city at the hands of the militias, Local media sources reported and the sources noted that most of the militants of al-Hesba and financial officials and administrators also moved to Deir al-Zour.

In this regard, Fox News channel reported that IS organization intends to move its capital from Raqqa to Deir al-Zour because of the upcoming attack would be launched on the city and the near-total siege imposed on it. The channel noted that US drone aircraft have detected in recent months a comprehensive transfer " From Raqqa to Al-Mayadin in Deir Al-Zour Governorate.

SDF militias are seeking military, administrative and civilian control over the city. On April 18, the Syrian government announced the formation of a civilian council for the administration of the city of Raqqa, composed of elders of the clans from the city and YPG militis to support them all.
