A senior leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), known as the Ahmed Jibril militia, was killed in fighting along side the Assad's forces against the rebels factions on Saturday.

In a statement (PFLP) described the killing of Colonel Abdel Rahman Ahmed Al Ateeq, who is a member of the advisory council of the Front without mentioning how and where he was killed. However, several sources confirmed that he was killed in the Israeli air raid, where media sources loyal to the regime mentioned names of three dead out of four: "Hamad Ahmed Ibrahim , Safwan Ahmed Salibi and Osama Hamed Faraj."

The dead colonel, aged 70, has had several combat posts against Israel, as well as his position as military commander of PFLP militia.

The Israeli warplanes bombed last Friday two positions of the Assad forces in the province of Quneitra, and also hit three missiles in the city of Baath, the center of Quneitra province. “The shelling was in response to the fall of mortar shells on the side occupied by Israel from the plateau” the Israeli newspaper "Yediot Ahronot" reported. As for the Syrian side it has been recognized by media sources loyal to the Assad regime the killing of three soldiers in the area of “Nab’ al-Fawar”.
