The Turkish authorities have officially arrested the commander of the Syrian warplane, which fell inside Turkish territory last month, Turkish media confirmed.

The sources pointed out that the charge against the pilot, "Colonel Mohammed Soufan" who comes from the village of Kfriya in rural Idlib is spying and violating the border, "without giving any further details."

A MiG 21 plane landed on Saturday (March 4th) near the Turkish city of Antakya after being hit by the movement of Ahrar al-Sham during its raids targeting the cities of Ariha and committed a massacre in al-Dana. The pilot was taken to a Turkish hospital.

Several parties and revolutionary activities, notably the National Coalition, brought lawsuits against Sufan demanding the prosecution of the pilot, and launched a media campaign called for the exchange of the pilot of the dissident officer captured by the Syrian regime, "Hussein Harmoush."
