Lands Flooded

ElDorar AlShamia:

Vast area of agricultural lands and houses of farmers flooded on Thursday as a result of the flood of the Balikh channel in the western town of Salhabiya west of the city of Raqqa after the militia of "Democratic Syrian Forces-SDF" opened the gates of the chanal on the northern side of the Euphrates dam, activists reported.

The flood spread to the north and west of the Sahlabiya. This led to the cutting off several roads, including the Sahlabiya -Raqqa road, and the International Coalition aircraft targeted a vehicle in the village that was trying to open the Salhabiya-Raqqa road after flooding and killing the driver.

The influx of Balikhs led to a large-scale displacement of the inhabitants of the villages of Al-Salhabiya and Al-Yamama, as a result of the flooding of large areas of agricultural land and peasant houses.

International coalition forces continue to target the Euphrates dam and its environs. Calls to neutralize the dam have not received any response, and the dam's engineers have warned of its collapse if it is not maintained.
