It is parallel to the news reported about the ongoing battles of Hama countryside and all the attention drawn to the northern and western flaming countryside, political and field developments suggest that Russia and Iran are considering new options to move in Syria, especially in the most important stronghold of the Syrian revolution, Idlib.

Russia’s Deployment in Afrin and its Outskirts

The last days revealed the presence of Russian military in the areas of (Kafr Jannah - Jendares - Deir Balot), adjacent to the city of Afrin and is under the control of Kurdish protection units YPG.

"Russian armored vehicles troops carriers PMBs arrived areas in the countryside of Aleppo, and that the Russian military presence in this region comes in the framework of the implementation of protection and Russian forces held an agreement to cooperate in the fight against terrorism” ,the spokesman for the Kurdish units, Redo Khalil, said.

Although the Russian Defense Ministry denied the news of its intention to establish a military base, leaked pictures and footages come from Afrin and its surroundings indicate that the presence of armored vehicles and many troops’ carriers that does not indicate that Russia wants to transfer only part of the center, "Musallah Hameim" to the kurdish region to monitor the truce held earlier as it claimed in its statement.

Military experts in the Aleppo Operation Operations Room reported that they had information indicating Russia's desire to use the Kurdish protection militias to control Mount Barakat in the western Aleppo countryside, in preparation for the takeover Darat Ezzah town.

The experts stressed that Russia aims to obtain good fire coverage includes large areas of rural West and Southern Aleppo, and the northern countryside of Idlib; which facilitates the military operations and operations of the Iranian militias at low costs; the height of "Mount Barakat" 845 meters above sea level, gives Russians advantage of the use of heavy artillery in stead of high-cost warplanes strikes, and the location of the mountain gives also accurate scores and access to large areas of the mentioned region.

These developments come in the wake of successive statements of the Kurdish protection units (YPG) indicate more convergence with the Syrian regime.

"The spokesman of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in which the Kurdish units is its main backbone, stressed that the army of the regime is a national force and can operate with them in the operations of Raqqa.

"The commander of the Kurdish units (Span Hou) did not rule out the participation of SDF forces with units of clans in the liberation of Idlib, from (Jabhat al-Nusra) within weeks of capturing Raqqa.

The Iranian crowds in Aleppo’s two countryside areas  and Rapprochement with the Russians

After the takeover of the city of Aleppo, the militias linked to Iran strengthened their positions in the western countryside of Aleppo, specifically in the suburb of Asad, in addition to the southern countryside of Aleppo near Khanasser, and made several attempts to further incursion into the western countryside of Aleppo to capture the area of al-Rashidin located on the border of Idlib province, and repeated attempts to break into the "Sahafien block."

These developments are accompanied by further Iranian-Russian coordination and the sending of more joint letters to the rest of the parties that the two countries are continuing to cooperate with the Syrian file up to the end.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif said on Tuesday that his country allows the Russian air force to use Iranian airbases to bomb targets in Syria, one day after the arrival of a high-ranking Iranian delegation including President Hassan Rowhani to the capital Moscow to sign memorandums of understanding with his Russian counterpart.

Kfrya and Foua’s Evacuation Agreement

Political experts close to the evacuation of the residents from the towns of Kfrya and Foua’ in rural Idlib have reported that the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas who are holed up in it, fearing that Iran is rushing the process; in preparation for a military campaign in the region. For the evacuation of both fighters and civilians from the town in return for the evacuation of fighters and residents of Zabadani, Madaya and Bloudan in the countryside of Damascus.

The experts warned of the speed shown by Iran to fulfill the deal, which will be in two installments, and that Iran may resort to the removal of the majority of civilians in the first batch to ease the fighters of Hezbollah, and then its militias located in the countryside of southern Aleppo launched military operations towards the province of Idleb without any pressures.

The situation in Syria has proved that the facts on the ground, as well as the political approaches, are not constant, and their data are changing constantly. This makes every single scenario may be  possible, and the next few days may bear clearer indications of the orientations of the actual actors in the Syrian file.
