#ElDorar AlShamia :

It is clear that talking about the safe zones of Syria to shelter displaced people, and to ensure that they move or resort to other countries, is strongly prevailed especially by the new US administration under #Donald_Trump , that has always expressed its intention and desire to create those areas, funded by the Gulf states.

United States of America, under the former administration of #Barak_Obama the view that the idea of safe zones "is not easy to fulfill" and require several steps can not be approved by the Syrian regime and its allies , such as Russia and Iran, despite leaks about Obama’s compliance with the Turkish demands for the establishment of a "safe zone" protected by the coalition in the north of Syria, in exchange for allowing US aircraft to use Turkey’s military bases to launch airstrikes on IS organization.

Donald Trump, new US president launched several statements since the start of the election campaign until he took office, calling for the establishment of safe zones in Syria, provided that it should be financed by the states of Arabic Gulf- and the results began to come true, where the United States announced on Friday that it had received commitment from the leaders of several countries to fund the establishment of such zones.

The White House spokesman Sean Spicer, added more updates will appear relating to the financing process of the proposed areas, pointing out that most of the leaders of these governments have registered their commitment to contribute to the financing of these areas, "without mentioning to names."

The commitments announced of heads of state to fund establishing safe zones were preceded by several meetings between the US administration and some Arab countries, in January as Mr. Trump telephoned the Saudi monarch "Suleiman bin Abdul Aziz" where both parties confirmed their desire and their support for the establishment of such regions, also Trump met with Jordanian King Abdullah II, who also agreed to do so.

“Safe-Zones” idea called by Turkey a year after the start of the war in Syria and had been ignored in the Western era and particularly by Obama’s administration - is welcomed now by the State of Qatar, where the Foreign Ministry in last January announced:

On one hand, "The Foreign Ministry welcomes the intention of the United States signed an executive decision to develop a plan for the establishment of safe zones in Syria." The Director of Information Office of the Foreign Affairs Ministry ,Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi confirmed "the need to provide safe havens in Syria and enforce no-fly zones, to ensure the safety of civilians in accordance with international resolutions, and to protect the Syrian people from destruction and displacement processes as well"

On the other hand, spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Hussein Mufti oglu, said that Ankara has defended since the beginning of the Syrian crisis the idea of establishing safe zones in Syria, and added: "The important thing is the results of this step? What information and guidance to be issued by US in this regard?" .

The Turkish spokesman considered " returning thousands of Syrians back to Jarabulus city of Aleppo northern countryside after the extension of the security as a result of the Euphrates Shield operation ,which may be one of the most striking examples about the importance of establishing safe areas in Syria."

Russia Sets Conditions but Assad refuses

Russia, which is one of the most important supporters of the Syrian regime, required to consent to the establishment of safe areas to be involved in that process, and the formulation of integrated measures for cooperation in the fight against terrorism, as well as the necessity of the Damascus Declaration for approval.

On the other hand, "Bashar al-Assad" said that the idea of establishing safe zones in Syria is unrealistic, confirming his refusal as well as his regime saying that "people did not need to safe areas at all."

It could be argued that the safe areas, which is supposed to extend from the city of Jarublus in the east to Azaz city in the west, and then to al-Bab city to the south the matter became closer to come true, especially after the progress made by the FSA factions and the announcement of seizing control over al-Bab city, and the recent American statements, but it still needs to make them implemented under UN auspices via regional processors.
