"Al-Ray Al-Yawm" newspaper said on Tuesday that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, is trying to put pressure on Jordan to invite the President of the Syrian regime Bashar al-Assad to the Arab summit in Amman.

The newspaper said: "The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, pushing from behind a curtain on the Jordanian government, to persuade her to officially invite the Syrian government to participate in the Arab summit."

Jordan previously announced it would not extend an invitation to the Syrian regime to attend the Arab summit to be held in Amman, out of respect for the Arabs League's decision to suspend the membership of the Assad regime after the outbreak of the Syrian war.

Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammed Al-Momani, said that "there is a resolution of the Arab League to suspend the membership of Syria, and this decision is still in force and applied by Jordan.
