Abbas heads to Saudi Arabia today to meet King Salman

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas heads on Wednesday to Saudi Arabia, on an official visit lasting several days.

Abbas will meet during the visit, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and a number of Saudi officials to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments on the Palestinian issue.

Abbas is accompanied by Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Saeb Orikat, and his advisor for diplomatic affairs Majdi al-Khalidi, the Chief Justice Mahmoud al-Habash, the head of the General Intelligence Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj, in addition to Palestine's ambassador to the Kingdom Bassam Agha.

This comes days after the payment of its share of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the budget of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah for 8 months after.

Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League Ahmad Qattan, said that the Saudi Fund for Development on the amount of 61.6 million dollars to the Palestinian Authority, premiums for the eight months of April / May until November 2016, of which $ 7.7 million a month.

Kattan said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Thursday that these premiums come as a contribution from Saudi Arabia to support the budget of the State of Palestine, stressing always kingdom will continue to support the Palestinian cause on all political, economic and humanitarian levels.
